To sell your services online, a digital platform (blog/website) is the first thing you need. But with most platforms, you have to be a tech genius to manage. Well, not for the ones I recommend.
In case you’re new to the word, “WordPress”, it’s what 90% of websites and blogs run on today. Why? It’s so easy to use.
However, you need to know some geeky stuff to really get the most out of it too. For example, if you’re setting up your blog for the first time, you’ll need to look for themes to use, the right plug-ins to add, hosting, etc.
Trust me, that kind of experience will have a hair-pulling effect on you.
The problem with most professionals is that they want websites with all the flash and animated images to the point where the main purpose of the website, which is to sell services, is lost.
What you need is something simple, which focuses not only on design, but also on what you have to offer, which in this case is content.
Such websites are hassle-free and easy to tweak. I use Studiopress themes on the Genesis framework to design client websites. Why? Because the themes are optimized for one thing: the use of content to market your services. They’re designed for marketing purposes, not for the swag which most professionals fall prey to.
You can check out some of the Studiopress themes here. And to reduce the amount of tech stuff you’d have to read through when trying to set up your Platform, here’s a free client attraction guide to help you out called, “Get More Clients With Content Marketing (A Guide for Creative Professionals)“. It simply gives you the advice you need and leads you to trusted resources to help get your content marketing mojo up and running.
